Picture 2Sick of Youtube ads, shitty quality vids and Adobe Flash in general? Then install ClicktoFlash. ClicktoFlash is wee plug-in for Safari which allows you to watch Youtube in H.264, even download the clips directly or watch fullscreen in Quicktime player. Sweet.

The difference from normal Youtube viewing is that instead of loading and playing straight away you get blank grey screen with a gear sign in the top left hand corner. Click on this and then you can choose how you want to view your clip from a short menu. Simple.

Interesting with this app is that reveals how much of a page load is actually made up of flash bits from buttons to banners to animations, which all slow down the load time. This can cut this waiting time down alot esp if your on a slow connection. The annoyance with this is that it does halt everything though for sites you trust or use frequently there is a whitewash feature which allows you to just load these sites as normal.
