Want to use your Playstation 3 as a media server and have a Mac? Well, MediaLink by Nullriver is the best integrated tool I’ve found.

It has full Itunes integration for music, video, podcasts etc, and complete viewing for Aperture and Iphoto libraries in HD. The best element however, is that it can stream HD video and transcode video on the fly to MP4, which means you can play pretty much any video format. Alternatively, you can also copy media over from the Mac to the Playstation internal hard drive wirelessly.

Medialink also facilities full folder integration to play any media, anywhere on your computer outside of the above applications. It even displays album art, photo and video thumbnails using the Mac QuickLook technology. Cool aye. The only sting is a small cost. Only $20US, so not too bad really.  After using it a bit it seems pretty reliable. Give it a go. There is free trial version you can try to see if suits ya.
